On the other side we have a beautiful mirror like lagoon perfect for sunset gazing inhabited by manatees, dolphins, turtles and crocodiles amongst other countless creatures like hundreds of tiny fiddler crabs or the mighty Jaguar who is king of this waters and jungles. This region presents important communities of coastal birds at a regional and national level as they are nesting and feeding sites, more than 350 species of birds have been observed in the Reserve, some of which are not found anywhere else in the world, like  the emerald hummingbird, the Yucatan vireo, the Toucan, the Clock bird, and many more.
